[0:00] Happy new year Woodbury!
[0:01] I'm Ashley
and this is the scoop.
[0:05] Metro transit is piloting
a new on demand
[0:08] shared ride service
in a few areas around the metro,
[0:11] including 13 square miles in Woo
parts of Oakdale and Lake Elmo.
[0:17] Metro Micro Works,
like other rideshare services,
[0:20] has its own app and uses
Ada accessible mini busses
[0:24] that allow customers
to be picked up
[0:26] and dropped off anywhere
[0:28] within the service area
during their trip.
[0:30] Because it is a shared ride,
[0:32] the bus may pick up or drop off
other passengers along the way.
[0:36] The City of Woodbury is seeking
input on how to prioritize
[0:39] federal funding,
and is in the process
[0:41] of developing a new five year
consolidated plan to guide
[0:44] how to use funds.
[0:45] Eligible funding activities
must meet at least one of three
[0:49] national objectives,
[0:50] which include benefiting low
to moderate income residents,
[0:54] addressing blight or meeting
urgent community needs.
[0:58] Survey responses will be
accepted through January 31st.
[1:01] Registration for recreation
[1:03] pickleball clubs
will open in February.
[1:06] Check out the Woodbury
Recreation website to sign up.
[1:09] And finally, here's a few winter
reminders.
[1:12] No on street parking from 2 a.m.
[1:14] until 6 a.m.
[1:16] or after a two inch snowfall.
[1:18] Make sure trash cans are placed
on your driveway,
[1:21] not on the street.
[1:22] Clear snow around mailboxes.
[1:24] Property owners adjacent
to a public sidewalk
[1:27] need to maintain
the public sidewalk by clearing
[1:29] snow and ice within 12 hours
after it stops falling.
[1:33] Adopt a fire hydrant
and keep it clear.
[1:36] Give at least five car lengths
between your vehicle and a plow.
[1:40] Don't allow children to build
snow forts near the curb
[1:42] or cul de sacs, and keep sleds
and toys away from the street.
[1:46] If you would like
to stay up to date on city news,
[1:48] be sure to sign up for
in touch emails, reach
[1:51] city newsletters and connect
with us on social media.
[1:54] I'm Ashley
and this has been the scoop.
