The joint city council workshop, held at the Woodlands Conference Room in Woodbury Central Park, brought together officials from both cities to receive updates on key community services and initiatives.

Schools took center stage as South Washington County Schools Superintendent Julie Nielsen briefed the councils on district activities and initiatives. The presentation gave city leaders insight into educational priorities affecting families in both communities.

Public safety was another major focus, with Police Chiefs Jason Posel of Woodbury and Brad Petersen of Cottage Grove delivering updates on department activities and public safety matters. The water treatment presentation, led by Public Works Director Ryan Burfeind and Mary Van Milligan, outlined the current status and future plans for water facilities serving both cities.

Other presentations included updates on the South Washington Watershed District from Administrator John Loomis, covering ongoing environmental projects; the HERO Center's annual report from Manager Dan Anselment; and True Lens Media's annual report from Executive Director Ann Schweisguth. Community Development Directors Janelle Schmitz and Emily Schmitz also presented updates on recent development projects and planning initiatives in their respective cities.

The workshop format allowed the two neighboring communities to coordinate on regional issues while maintaining separate governance. No votes were recorded during the meeting, which was structured as an informational session rather than a decision-making body.
