Woodbury Launches Mobile Recreation Program for Youth

Meeting date: Jul 21, 2025
Published Aug 5, 2025

The City of Woodbury has launched the M.O.R.E. (Mobile On-site Recreation Experience) Program, a free mobile recreation initiative that brings activities directly to neighborhoods throughout the city.

The four-week pilot program will visit six different locations around Woodbury, spending an hour and a half at each park once per week. The program targets children ages 5 to 16 and operates on an open-house format, allowing participants to join activities for any length of time.

Activities include sports, arts and crafts, and oversized yard games. Staff will bring obstacle courses, soccer nets, basketballs and other recreational equipment to each location. Children can choose their preferred activities or participate in structured programming.

The Recreation Department plans to evaluate the pilot program's success for potential expansion to additional parks and locations in future years. No registration is required for the free community program.

The mobile approach aims to increase accessibility to recreation programming by bringing activities directly to neighborhoods rather than requiring families to travel to centralized facilities.
