Wright County Board of Commissioners appointed Greg Chrysler as the county's new administrator during their February 4 meeting, concluding a months-long selection process.

The board approved Chrysler's appointment in a 4-1 vote, with Commissioner Dietrich casting the dissenting vote. Chrysler, who has served the county for 10 years in various capacities including as county attorney, will transition from his current role to lead county operations.

"This truly is the highest honor I think that this board could give someone," Chrysler said following his appointment. He praised the board's fiscal responsibility and commitment to public service, noting his experience observing budget deliberations provided insight into the commissioners' careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

The meeting also included recognition of Dr. Jennifer Ray Mater, who is retiring after 19 years of service on the Public Health Task Force and HHS Advisory Committee. Dr. Mater served as medical director for over 25 years and was instrumental in developing the county's dental clinic and respiratory protection programs.

Commissioners approved several other items including accepting donations from DAV Chapter 37 Hutchinson totaling $2,500 for veteran services and gift cards from Wright-Hennepin Cooperative. The board also directed staff to obtain engineering quotes for reestablishing records on County Ditch 23 following a repair request from Woodland Township.
