Lakeville Road Projects Target September Completion
Two major road construction projects in Lakeville are on schedule for completion in early to mid-September, according to an update from Assistant City Engineer John Nelson.
The 202nd Street and Hamburg Avenue intersection improvement project involves construction of a single-lane roundabout designed to address safety concerns at the intersection. Nelson said the project targets substantial completion by mid-September, when the intersection will reopen to traffic.
Meanwhile, the 185th Street reconstruction project continues on schedule with a targeted completion date at the beginning of September. The 185th Street and Ipava Avenue intersection has already reopened to traffic, Nelson reported.
Work on the 185th Street project has progressed significantly on the eastern portion between Exonia Avenue and Ipava Avenue, where utilities, curb and gutter, and the first course of asphalt pavement have been installed. Construction crews are now beginning work on the western end of the project between County Road 50 and Exonia Avenue, starting with utility installations.
